This June and July, I had the incredible opportunity to learn from and contribute to Fundación Avanzar in Cuenca, Ecuador.

Fundación Avanzar empowers women through education, practical skills, and opportunities aimed at sustainably breaking the cycle of poverty. I had the opportunity to share some of the concepts and perspectives I had gained at HSG around conducting market research, competitor analysis, and the importance of understanding your market environment. Our discussions developed into a valuable exchange of ideas, where hearing the participants’ perspectives and applying these concepts to the realities of the Ecuadorian market challenged my own assumptions and allowed us to learn from one another.

Most of all, I’m grateful for the inspiring women I met and the opportunity to contribute to their entrepreneurial journeys. A huge thank you to Margarita Heredia Forster, Rosa Casajoana de Heredia, and the entire Fundación Avanzar team for making me feel so welcome.
